Born in São Paulo, Thomas Jo Kurita is an orthopedic and trauma physician. He earned his medical degree from Universidade de Santo Amaro, completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Campinas and specialized in Knee Surgery in São José dos Campos.

He has lived in Barretos since 2014 and is on the medical staff of Hospital São Jorge, providing outpatient, urgent and emergency care. He also serves as a court-appointed medical expert in the civil courts of Barretos — technical and impartial work, distinct from patient care.

Since 2021, he has volunteered as a military chaplain with the 33rd Military Police Battalion, representing the Associação PMs de Cristo, supporting officers and their families.
